Asia and European trading is on course to reach $2.5 trillion by 2025. Over 100 Eurasian cities have been connected via the “Chinese Railway Express” and Yiwu to Madrid is the longest route globally but taking only 18 days to complete while China to Europe by rail on other routes can now be achieved in 10 days.
China has invested extensively in Eastern European infrastructure including the Budapest-Belgrade high-speed railway that connects Central Europe to the resurgent Greek port of Piraeus. Special Economic Zones and industrial parks have been established in Belarus and Serbia for example.
Over a dozen countries have had critical telecommunications infrastructure established including a fibre-optic network in the Baltic Sea and Huawei is supplying 5G to to at least over half a dozen countries.
